The Boxscores of the Week: 10/22 to 10/28

Welcome to the Boxscores of the week! Every week I run down my picks of the five top boxscores of the week. For good measure, I also look at the bottom three. While production -- we use the Points Over Par metric -- does play a role in who I select, I also allow some subjectivity into my selection. With that in mind, here are our lists!

The Top Five Boxscores of the Week

Player Date Minutes PTS(TS%) TRB(ORB)| AST TOV STL BLK PF PoP
Stephen Curry 10/24 32 51(89.8%) 4 3 2 0 1 1 15.7
Rudy Gobert 10/27 32 25(82.2%) 14 0 0 1 4 1 14.8
Monte Morris 10/25 27 20(85.9%) 3 7 0 3 0 0 14
Boban Marjanovic 10/28 12 13(87.4%) 9 1 1 1 2 3 8.4
LeBron James 10/25 35 28(65.4%) 11 11 2 3 0 3 10.7

1. Steph Curry becomes the first player in NBA history to ten games where he's made ten or more threes! A fifty point game would have been a guarantee when I was doing ten boxscores. Now that I've dropped to five, you apparently have to be historic to get on (as Blake Griffin's 50 point game was cut thanks to this.)

2. In a win against the depleted Pelicans, Rudy Gobert put up a fantastic performance. Who knew giving Gobert more shots would work out? The Jazz starters distributed the ball and crushed. If they keep Gobert more engaged in the scoring, this won't be his last time on the list.

3. Monte Morris isn't officially a rookie as he suited up for three games last season. That said, I give him the "rookie slot" with an amazing performance. Sadly his amazing scoring, passing, and stealing weren't enough to help the Nuggets down the Lakers. Next time, give him more minutes!

4. Boban makes the list for his specialty, amazingly productive performances in limited minutes. Almost getting a double-double in 12 minutes to go with two blocks and a steal is definitely impressive. We'll see if he ever makes the list for getting legit minutes.

5. LeBron James makes the list for the best triple-double of the week. An oddly J.R. Smith like finish from Rajon Rondo kept this performance from getting the Lakers a win. Still, LeBron put up classic LeBron numbers, and we can't complain about that!

The Bottom Three Boxscores of the Week

Player Date Minutes PTS(TS%) TRB(ORB)| AST TOV STL BLK PF PoP
C.J. McCollum 10/22 38 13(25.1%) 4 4 2 1 0 2 -14.7
Eric Gordon 10/24 40 11(26.2%) 4 3 1 0 1 3 -11.1
Cedi Osman 10/27 32 10(38.5%) 4 3 6 0 0 1 -13.2

1. C.J. McCollum missed twenty shots! It easily led to the worst performance of the week and the top of our list.

2. Steph Curry makes the good list for making ten threes, so Eric Gordon makes the bad list for missing eleven threes. I love to have balance.

3. The Cavs are a slightly different team without LeBron and Cedi Osman's horrible performance helped them off to an 0-6 start. Maybe the Cavs will luck into another Bron in the draft lottery because I doubt they're making the playoffs.

Alright, those are our lists. As always, let us know in the comments or on Twitter if you have any suggestions. You can also let us know if our selections were wrong, but it's too late to change things now! I'll start maybe doing a leaderboard in a week or two. Since no player has made either list both weeks I've done this though, there's currently not much point. See you next week!

* Reminder, the Points over Par metric is just the Wins Produced formula translated into point margin. The way to think of it is -- how many points would a team win (or lose) by with our player's performance if they played next to an average team against an average opponent.
