Show Notes
It's a tad odd to simultaneously "embrace advanced stats" and then use Dave Berri's name as an insult. Another example of why we're always a bit tepid on the mainstream "advanced stats movement."
This week's segment: "NBA Playoffs or Game of Thrones?" is the "closest" yet. Tune in!
We talk about LeBron's motivation for going back to Cleveland. What stars, like Kevin Durant, want to do is sometimes baffling.
That said, Andrew points out that Kevin Durant's best option is to keep his Bird Rights and stick with the Thunder for at least one more season.
Harrison Barnes played poorly this past season. Unless he's taking steroids, I wouldn't re-sign him.
Brian is a "Game of Zones" fan, which made a fun Steph Curry comparison.
For as much flack as Kevin Love got in the Finals, the reality is Harrison Barnes probably should have stayed on the bench.
Andrew has a hot take on who should be the Finals MVP. Tune in to hear!
Basketball-Reference has lineup data for each team. We use these to discuss some "small ball" lineups the Golden State Warriors use.
We talk some of the Finals Thoughts I wrote up.
The Warriors are targeting Dirk Nowitzki???
Andrew has a fun award that should go to Harrison Barnes - "Final MVP for the opposing team."
Would Joakim Noah go to the Warriors?
We play another round of "How bad could the Lakers get?" with Harrison Barnes.
Andrew named this week's show as LeBron James has indeed been the Cinderella story multiple times in the NBA Finals.
We tease some draft discussion; we're hoping to get more out this week. No promises.
Shout Outs
Andrew shouts out Dave Berri (@wagesofwins)
We shout out WWE Champion Dean Ambrose. I take a little credit!
WWE emails trying to get me back on the network. Fine, I'll be back when Ambrose is put over. Losing clean to Jericho doesn't cut it.
