Show Notes
Playoffs!
We run down the playoffs! Do we think Portland is the favorite now? Was the 73 win season to blame for Curry's injury? Is LeBron in playoff mode? Are the Raptors cursed by the ghost of Tracy McGrady? Tune in to hear our thoughts.
Also, we discuss the inherent randomness of the playoffs, a topic we've hit before.
We admit we haven't been watching the East much, but that said, I note that since the Hornets have started starting Frank Kaminsky, they've been winning. Just saying.
The Portland Trail Blazers
We review my posts on the Portland Trail Blazers improvement and who we think should have been most improved. Patrick, for the record, is still on team Steph Curry for Most Improved.
Brian wrote a great post detailing why the Portland Trail Blazers didn't fail this season.
More than Mean
Recently CBS released a video called "More than Mean." Men were asked to read real comments female sports reporters had received. It's troubling stuff. It's similar to a piece the Guardian did on their comment section recently.
Our short PSA here. If your response to these videos isn't sympathy and empathy then GTFO. Seeing this video immediately made us angry at the downright undeserved disgusting treatment women face on the internet. As Patrick notes, he intentionally is antagonistic and doesn't receive a sliver of the hate a female reporter will get for reporting the box score. And to people that respond to these videos as if it's a contest and point out, "they get hate too." Shut up!
Fantastic post from John Scalzi on how being white and male is playing life on the easiest video game setting.
Shout Outs
Shoutout to Skip Bayless, who is leaving ESPN.
Brian also shouts out Stephen B. Smith.
Shout out to the Ladies League, especially their post on women's collegiate hockey.
